Nowadays social interactions happen on the internet. Many of you by now might have heard about Facebook and Twitter or are using it already. For those of you not already using it. let me bring you up to speed.

Facebook was founded by two Havard Students in 2004 originally built as a network for students to get to know each other within the universities and later expanded to be used for anyone over the age of 13. The website currently has over 200 million active users.

Twitter was launched by three über-techs in July 2006. It’s a social network service that allows users to post updates, which are limited to 140 characters. They can be done in 3 ways: online, sms or instant message. You can follow fellow Tweeter and/or they can follow you The difference between Twitter and Facebook is that Twitter is commitment-low but profile-high.

For me using Facebook and Twitter is about getting to know the landscape of the Web 2.0 scene, being in the picture of what is happening out there. Facebook is my connection with friends/associates and letting them know what’s happening in each other’s lives. Twitter currently is about seeing where is takes me as I’m still in the ‘toddler-stage’ of using it.
